Today marks two years since Dr. Blair penned his article for the Covington-Maple Valley Reporter, “Sorry, America you still need to floss.” In it he countered reports from the Associated Press which stated flossing was not as important as dentists claim it to be.
Brushing removes a significant amount of the plaque from your teeth, but it doesn’t get it all. Flossing removes 35 percent of the plaque brushing alone leaves behind. (Your hygienist can reach the rest;))
Flossing daily WILL break up the plaque that forms in between the teeth which, when left in place, is the cause of gum disease and cavities.
It turns out, Dr. Blair was right. (We already knew that!)
Sorry, America! We still need to floss!
Speaking of flossing… Have you joined our FLOSS like a BOSS challenge yet? We are drawing a name on October 30 for tickets to the SEAHAWKS game on November 4!!
